Great quiet exhaust fans with thermostat for my garage! I got a thermostat switch on Amazon, and it allows me to control the temperature that may be set, and when the temperature is cool enough, it turns off. It really cools down my garage, especially when it is more than 100+ degrees outside. My garage is meant for three cars, and this fan copes with the task well as it is very powerful. I may sometimes work on some projects for a long time, and in this case, I may need even lower temperature. This way, I open the door in the house, and the fan quickly absorbs cool air from it. I really like this model. I wanted to save some money by buying a smaller one, but this one is better and works well for me. I am going to put another on the attic for cooling the house. The stucco on the building was a real issue. So dusty! As I don’t have a sawzall, I have used a masonry blade on the skilsaw. I got the fan for mounting between regular stud spacing. They haven’t indicated any size spec, so I assumed that 14″ was a general dimension. It was the size of the fan. It was 18,5″ to the center of the mounting flanges. I had to return it, and I bought 12″, and mounted it on to 16″. The product has a nice quality, and a fair price. I assume that the installation will be simple. This fan has to vent moisture from my garage. I have epoxy floor, and so moisture may be collected on the floor in the wintertime. I really hope this will solve this problem. My garage is a special place because we use it for poker game for the past 4 years. My friends and I smoke cigars, and so we have to open the garage door. Or some fan should do this job to clear the air. As we are really loud, and the music plays, the opened garage door is not the option at night. We respect our neighbors. In addition, I live in the Northeast. So it is not a good idea to open doors in the winter. I came across this item, and my brother (who is an electrician) and I installed it next to the external wall in the garage, and connected it to a switch. The installation took about an hour, but if you do not have skills in it, it may take longer period. This devics ventilates serious air. In the summer, we may play poker within 6-7 hours, and this device didn’t let us down. The air was always fresh and clear. We used on a non-continuous basis in the winter for our poker games. We did it because this fan would freeze my garage, if it was left for night. Also, if the door is open on the opposite side of the garage, the space would be clear in a minute. The fan works quietly and has a very good capacity. This is a great discovery for my poker games, and I have been using it for more than 2 years. I haven’t used for the whole day, and every day, but I can tell about its work within 6-7 hours per week: I have not got any problems with it. I really recommend this item! This is awesome!!! A perfection! First off, the seller should update the pic because the solar panel is better than it is shown. On the pic it may look cheap, but in fact, this is monocristal, and 35 watts. Its quality is high. Secondly, the fan also different but it is good. It has a solid construction and 4-5 inches deep. And in the pic it may look thin and not solid. I really like the quality of the fan. I tested it out on the sun, and it turns on with direct and partial sunlight. It is slow in partial sunlight, and it is faster in the direct sunlight. The fan may work slowly even if I use a shadow of my hand. Great! It costs just $95, but I think that the price should be higher for such great product! I’m going to buy another one. I use it for the grid cabin (250 square ft). In summer it’s hot, and so this fan removes heat. I hope this information is helpful. Installing is simple. I used the site of the company, they have a good instruction. Also, their customer support works well. I contacted them, and they do not use answering machine. Just real people answer all your questions. High-end service! I can say that the house is cooler, 10-20 degrees. I haven’t measured the temperature with the fan but I can really feel how the heat goes away from the house, so the fan does its task well. Of course, summer temperature may vary, but we have not even used our A/C the last summer, and that summer was really hot! Even if you have a big space and it will not cool it down, it will clear your air and remove the excessive humidity. Using the sun energy will save you some money! The louver size is 14″x14″x2.5″. It comes with the instructions, but they haven’t really helped me. It was rather difficult to install. The motor got hot during testing and I couldn’t even touch it. The summer days were hot, more than 100 degrees, and the fan coped with it. Well, I find it very effective, and quiet. It ventilates a lot of air. Well, the fan is installed high, so I don’t want to take ladder every time to turn it on or change the speed. But I will figure something out. I would recommend this product for its good quality. I bought this fan for its affordable price. I installed it in my garage, in the wall. You may probably faced fumes and overspray in the garage, and so you know that the standard house fans do not cope with it. I don’t say that this fan is pretty, and it is not really silent. But the motor weighs more than complete fan assemblies. Two speeds are available: fast, and hold on to your hat! Sometimes I use paint in the garage, and this fan works well and removes the odor right away. (even two window fans may be replaced by it). The shutters are solid, and they have rubber on the edges. It means that the seal is smooth. When it is operating, I really see how the cloud of fumes go away from the garage. I think that it would be a great option for mechanic workshops, or so. I got this fan to replace the bath fan, I also changed the ceiling in the bathroom because we had mold. I don’t want to deal with it again. My ceiling is 10’, and the walls were covered with condensation water after every shower. And the steam fogged the mirror and came to the bedroom when the door was opened. The humidity was really high, it was uncomfortable. I had to open windows just to even it. So, the carpenter spent 8 hours to install it, and the ceiling was already done. He had to do new duct run. The good news is: the difference is huge. Now we do not have steam when someone has shower. The walls are dry now, and the humidity is normal. And now we do not have to leave the fan to work for 5 hours to clean the room. Oh, I should say that it is really soundless compared to the previous one. If you are ready to go through all these installation procedures, this fan is worth it. Now our bathroom is always fresh and clean.
